There's a lot of confusion among many people regarding what possibilities there are with regards to Lightroom. You have a choice of LR 6 (if you don't want a subscription) or Lightroom CC (if you want Lightroom Mobile, Photoshop CC and are willing to pay the subscription). The subscription to Lightroom CC is not designed specifically for professionals. I thought of 5.7.1 because i don't need the more advances and up-tp-date system and a subscription as would most professionals. I waited for over a half hour on their "chat" site for these answers and finally gave up. Surprised that a large company as Adobe has sure poor assistance and somewhat misleading web info. If there are fees for this download, they are absent from their site. I spoke with an Adobe rep and she told me that there is no trial version of this older system and that it is a "stand alone" program, yet she did not know the cost of 5.7.1, nor how to get that information. Maybe their site is in error? Also, there is no mention of "trial" time, nor any license fee, etc. It states that the downloaded 5.7.1 replaces any older version. Also, in the future, I could always buy a newer system by subscription.Īs for downloads, the Adobe official site claims that I do not need any other version of Lightroom to download 5.7.1. I have seen a number of new 5.7.1 systems for sale on ebay. An older 5.7.1 system should more than sufficient for what I need. i thought of 5.7.1 because i don't need the more advances and up-tp-date system and a subscription as would most professionals. But time to go for a more advanced system like Lightroom. Just this summer, I bought a digital camera and several lens and enjoying editing on Apple photos. I did a lot of film photography a number of years ago, but sold all my Canon gear.
